Passivation of stainless steel

Passivation of stainless steel (pickling)

Passivation of stainless steel is used to remove iron particles such as rust, other metals and surface impurities.

JAI-O passivates stainless steel using nitric acid, which cleans the surface and promotes natural passivation.

The technique forms a thin chromium-containing protective oxide layer that provides a corrosion-resistant surface.
